Mathematics Major
I chose Heidelberg because of the 3+2 program with Case Western Reserve University.
I majored in Mathematics because it is the basis of many fields of study and thus it allows me to get an understanding in those fields.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was being far from home and I handled it by focusing on my studies, surrounding myself with good friends and keeping in touch with my friends and family back in Colombia.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to adapt my action plan to counter any new challenge that may arise.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in ΡΗΔ, ΑΦΩ, BLU, World Student Union, Alliance for Sustainability and Residence Life staff.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was being an RA because it allowed me to connect with people and help other students traverse through problems they could be facing.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience is Julie Arnold because she helped me adapt to living in the U.S. and living alone in a residence hall.
My advice to new freshman me would be to avail yourself of the resources offered on campus. Enjoy your time here, make new friends and don't give your RAs headaches.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is pledging with the Rhos.
My plans after graduation are to study Aerospace Engineering at Case Western Reserve University.
